Our daughter is autistic. We procrastinated far too long in getting her to the orthodontist because we were not sure she would be able to tolerate the discomfort of braces very well. She got her braces earlier this month, and has done great. The nurses and Dr. Weidman have all been so wonderful and patient with her. She does not warm up to Doctors, Dentists, etc. well at all, but by the third visit she was very comfortable. She also thinks she might be brave enough to start going back by herself for adjustments. This is HUGE for her, as she does not go anywhere without my husband or myself. I can't say enough good things about our experience so far!
